You may feel like you need to manage some repressed anger. You wonder whether you should confront the person causing your frustration or run away. Try to figure out what problem part is caused by the adversary and what part is self-inflicted. It is very likely to be both. Any chess player knows that when the king is threatened, he is only left with three options: fighting the attacker (offensive), fleeing the threat (defensive) or placing another chess piece in between the two (third way). By analogy those options happen also in real life: confronting the adversary (aggressive), avoiding the fight (masochist) and the third way that is neither aggressive nor masochist. Fighting is hurting both and keeping the anger inside is self-destructive. Then how do you express your anger in a third way? You will find your own creative solution, but here is an idea. Write the most insulting email to your adversary using your worse injurious vocabulary and never send it. Your heart will then become available to focus on the problem instead of the person !!
